Defining the meaning of words and bringing neologisms to the language is always usage of power, as can be seen in latest discussion for example about issues of immigration or financial crises in Finland and in Europe. It seems like in a tightening political atmosphere language is the first thing to control.
Advertizing and propaganda both work throuh repetition. Even though repetition doesn’t directly get people to believe in a product or political ideology, it affects in the mind.
The words we use and the the terms in which we speak bears big significance. Defining the meaning of words is permanent conflict. Words are borders that surround our reality.
